September at GCC

SEPTEMBER AT GCC

Wow, it feels like a dream, a beautiful Holy Spirit soaked dream… but it happened! After years of planning, dreaming, praying and seeking we officially launched as a church on Sunday, September 11th. A brand new community of faith meeting in a space that was built more then 100 years ago, we worshiped, we prayed, we taught the Bible and together we where overwhelmed by God’s faithfulness throughout the whole journey. Several key Church leaders from around the city, as well as Pastor Buddy Hoffman and Pastor Matt Reynolds from our own Grace family, joined in for a time of commissioning and prayer over us and the sense of expectation and excitement in the room was infectious. I’ll never forget the image of the light streaming in through the stain glassed windows as people stretched their hands out over us in faith and the thought kept running through my mind; ‘Wow God.. you did it! You really did it!’

Ever since the beginning of this journey, since the first fragile prayers offered up and the first glimpse of vision for this new Church, we have held onto Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians, specifically in chapter 3, verse 20; ‘To Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.’ At GCC we have truly felt like we have been living in the ‘immeasurably’ more of God’s faithfulness during this season of preparation and now as we step into the next season I am confident that God has many lives he intends for us to impact with the Gospel and many people to be set free with the good news of Jesus Christ.
